The future of competence, creativity – is what arrive it
Dear reader, dear reader,
have you ever wondered how we were able to conquer naked, slow and relatively weak primates in the world? Without the claws, no fur, no natural weapons? Our real super power is Culture – the Knowledge that we pass on before the wheel needs to be reinvented. Anthropologists call this the cumulative cultural Evolution. However, as we told earlier myths, we share today's Memes. And there is the crucial question at the end of our series:
What remains from people when culture is digitized?
Here is the Overview of the entire series:
- Creativity in the age of the machines: Who are we, if KI thinks better? (1/8)
- The new authenticity: Why authenticity is the global currency (2/8)
- Degrowth vs. Silicon Valley: Two futures, one Planet (3/8)
- The art of failure in a global comparison (4/8)
- Biohacking for the Creative: Awesome or dangerous? (5/8)
- The future of work: If the sense is more important than income (6/8)
- Creativity by limiting or Abundance? A global view (7/8)
- Culture as a survival strategy: Why people without culture can't survive (8/8)

The second Code: culture as a biological necessity
Culture is far more than Opera and museums. It is our survival strategy. The man is a Defects beingsthat is only due to culture viable. We survive because we have access to a common memory to the values, tools, and stories.
This collective knowledge sharing has enabled us to conquer even extreme habitats. Culture acts as a Hardware extension for our brain.
Without them, we lose not only orientation but also identity. It gives us a sense of belonging and sense – the two basic pillars of mental stability. If you deeper into this Dimension of immersion want to read my post the meaning of the work.
The digital fracture: When Memes are on the belief
Today, a new, volatile forms of Power to gain cultural identity. In Online communities on Reddit, TikTok, or Discord – replaced the shared joke often the most shared belief. The Meme the modern totem bar: a compressed Symbol of collective belonging.
However, this new culture is fast-paced and disembodied. It creates close to, but you can guarantee no depth. If human meaning is expressed only in pixels, of language, there is a risk Disembodiment of mind.
The digitization of the mind: opportunity or danger?
Never before have we had access to as much Knowledge as it is today. Digital cultural horizons, fosters creativity, and connects the world. (More on this you can find in my article creativity and AI).
But: What could we gain more depth, we often lose at resonance. A study of the Max-Planck-Institute for evolutionary anthropology shows: Social Interaction is crucial for sustainable Learning. If this takes place digitally, we are changing as a species, our cultural Software. We are to Usersnot to Culture.

Your compass for cultural Survival
- Nursing analog rituals: Can do without screens – cook family recipes, play music, write letters. Read: Why the Analog is celebrating a Comeback.
- Search depth instead of width: Read a good book or visit an exhibition to consume instead of 100 Clips.

- Critical Media Consumption: Consider what digital tribes you shape. Read: The art of critical thinking.
- Community life: Culture is created in the exchange – search real encounters, in which fought, laughed, and thought.
Reflection: yearning as a constant
At the end of the longing remains. Also in the digital space, we are looking for the same things as the camp fire: after the recognition, protection, meaning and history. Technology changes the Medium, not the human nature. But if we just "like" instead of life, we will lose what has made us the people.
Conclusion: We are the architects of our culture
Culture is not a state but a process. Every day we make it through our attention, decisions, and conversations. Right now, in the Transition to a digital civilization, is the awareness of the origin and responsibility is more important than ever.

your Roland
